Focus timer for ADHD

A focus timer for brains that drift.

Most timers assume the hard part is keeping time. For a lot of us, the hard part is starting — and staying with one thing once we have. Mindtiq is built around exactly that.

Why ordinary timers don’t stick

A plain countdown works for a day or two. Then the same things get in the way:

None of these are about willpower. They are about how the tool is shaped.

How Mindtiq is different

One box, one button

You write one thing — just the task in front of you — and press start. No projects, tags or settings to fiddle with first. You can keep up to three tasks for today, and Mindtiq suggests the next one.

A 3-2-1 start

Every focus bubble begins with a short countdown. It sounds small, but a fixed launch ritual takes the decision out of starting: when the clock hits zero, you’re in. The screen goes dark and everything else fades away.

Resets instead of open breaks

When a bubble ends, Mindtiq gives you a short reset — a breathing pattern, a bit of movement or a quick reaction game — so the break has a shape and an end, and you come back instead of drifting off.

A new rhythm every day

Each day has a different format and colour: Classic, Sprint, Ladder, Pyramid, Deep Dive or Mystery. Same goals, new shape — novelty helps many people keep showing up. Read more in Pomodoro for ADHD.

Made for hard days too

Low on energy? Switch to Gentle: 10 minutes on, 5 off. Can’t face a task at all? Start a two-minute bubble. Starting is the win.

What a session looks like

  1. Open mindtiq.com/app on your phone or computer.
  2. Write the one thing: “Draft the first paragraph”, “Reply to Anna”, “Wash the dishes”.
  3. Press start. 3, 2, 1 — focus.
  4. When the bubble ends, do the reset. Then go again, or call it a day.

Your streak, level and stats build up as you go. Everything is stored on your device; sign in with Google only if you want it synced.

Want music while you focus? Free users get brown noise. With Mindtiq Pro, Mindtiq Sounds plays instrumental focus music that changes with the day’s format.

Questions

Is Mindtiq free?

Yes. Focus bubbles, daily formats, today’s plan, goals and habits are free for good. Mindtiq Pro (€2.99 a month or €24.99 a year, 7 days free to try) adds Mindtiq Sounds focus music.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Mindtiq runs in your browser. On a phone, open mindtiq.com/app and add it to your home screen — then it opens like an app.

What is the best focus interval for ADHD?

There is no single answer. Many people do better with shorter blocks of 10–15 minutes, especially on hard days, and longer ones once they are warmed up. Mindtiq changes the rhythm daily so you can find what works for you.

Is Mindtiq a treatment for ADHD?

No. Mindtiq is a productivity tool that uses common focus techniques. It is not a medical product and does not replace professional care.

Mindtiq is a productivity tool, not a medical product or treatment. If focus problems affect your daily life, talk to a doctor or psychologist.
